Dave’s Mapper & Geomorphs

An example of the output of Dave's MapperI just stumbled across a fascinating project called Dave’s Mapper. It is a collection of geomorphs contributed by various users that generates a full map out of random geomorphs. The geomorphs are standard dungeon crawls, but the tool is fascinating and I think I’ll have to contribute. It’s a great cause!

If you are interested in the geomorph idea but not in the full maps generated by Dave’s Mapper, look at Blood of Prokopius, where he talks about using 3×5 cards for geomorphs. What a great idea! He talks about it more here. Another person doing this is Lapsus Calumni. I wonder if anyone is doing this for COC or the Old West? If anyone else is doing this, please let me know. Also, be sure to check out Dyson’s Dodecahedron, which features a number of lovely maps.

Thanks for the post about the mapper. Looking forward to your tiles, should you decide to contribute. I’m planning to start updating a bit more often now, as my schedule permits.
