The Coolest City I’ve Never Seen

A street scene in WastburgThere seems to be a very cool game (and fantasy city) in French, although I haven’t read it yet. Wastburg, as described on Le Cyberespace de Jérôme Darmont. Originally a novel of roguish fantasy (a la Fritz Lieber’s Lankhmar, apparently) by Cédric Ferrand, it is now a game, with several supplements. The full description is over at GROG and the game itself can be purchased from Les 12 Singes (“The 12 Monkeys”) press in France. But where does the author live? In Montreal, just five hours north of here! Neither the book nor the rpg is out in English yet, so you’ll have to read it in French. It might be time for me to brush up, because it looks like fun!
